Low Carb: Papa Johns

Pizza is one of the worst offenders in terms of carbs. Eating pizza spikes your glucose level a lot. You just can't stop after eating one slice and you keep eating more and more, and then your glucose graph climbs up almost vertically, stopping somewhere in 300+ mg/dL range. Not good.

I was excited to find out that Papa Johns has a solution for pizza lovers who want to go low carb! They call it "Papa Bowl", and it's basically a pizza in a bowl with no dough at all. And it tastes great!

Avoid

Get

Everything you pick for your bowl, except maybe pineapples, should not spike your glucose levels too much. As for the wings, the majority of the wings there are breaded, but they do have "unsauced roasted wings" which are quite low on carbs.

I actually got a higher spike during my lunch in another cafe on that day, and the pizza bowl order was much less of a deal in terms of glucose levels.
